eBay acquires StumbleUpon.

eBay NASDAQ:EBAY) has just acquired social bookmarking site stumbleupon for $75 Million. I dont understand this because Yahoo! acquired del.icio.us for only $30 Million, and del.icio.us has a far bigger market share in social bookmarking than stumbleupon. I think the main reason of the acquisition was for eBay to branch out into more services.

New Start Up!

I just found out about this one its called Pownce.com and Its a web application that lets you send files,links and events. Its not currently open for registration, but you can request an invitation at Pownce.com so go check it out.

SpaceX

Elon Musk the founder of paypal has started a new venture called SpaceX Technologies which plans to develop a more affordable way of traveling in space and they eventually would like to travel to mars. I think it is very interesting that a dot com entreprenuer is developing space technology. I think in the coming years you will see a lot of space travel. So good for Elon Musk and I hope his venture is successful.

Joost

Theres this new startup its called Joost and it allows you to watch live tv with some program you download off the site, now before you go download the software I have to tell you the service hasnt launched yet. Iam not sure when its going to launch, what I do know is that the guys the started also started this service so go to the Joost website and check it out for yourself.

New web startup.

This new startup is very interesting. Its called BuddyTV.com its a website where people get connected to people that are watching the same show. Members can communicate with each other through there webcams or they can just chat through the website. The only problem is that the website is promoting television and the internet is more popular than television so its like a website thats telling you to watch TV. I have seen way better start ups. I have a few ideas myself that dont promote television.
